City staff has worked collaboratively with the Kearny Mesa community over the last few months to develop a draft land use map for the Kearny Mesa planning area. A meeting of the Kearny Mesa Community Plan Update Subcommittee was held on April 26, 2018. A Draft Land Use Map was presented for further study. Staff indicated that a recommendation on one draft land use map would allow further evaluation of different building intensities. The subcommittee voted to recommend the draft land use map for further study. The recommendations from the subcommittee will go to the full Kearny Mesa Community Planning Group their next regularly scheduled meeting on May 16th.

After the April subcommittee meeting it was brought to the attention of staff that the previous inclusion of “Residential Permitted” along Convoy Street between Dagget Street and Balboa Avenue was the result of a miscommunication that has since been corrected. The May Draft Land Use Map below reflects this correction.

Various components from any of the scenarios may be combined to create a hybrid. The City is requesting feedback and comments by January 18, 2018.
